InnBrighton, which runs 40 outlets in and around Brighton and Hove, has been working with Thatchers Cider to promote its range of English ciders for the summer selling period. Knowing its customers who throng to the beach bars during the summer months are keen to try new ciders, InnBrighton has listed Thatchers new blush cider Katy Rosé as a must stock in its bars which face onto the Brighton sea front.
Normally sold in 75cl bottles, Thatchers has produced specially branded jugs for Katy Rosé, allowing the pink cider to be served to customers sangria-style, and alleviating the need to take glass bottles onto the beach.
“This is a really innovative way for our customers to enjoy cider,” says Dan Hills, operations manager for InnBrighton. “The beach bars are packed during the summer months, and our customers are always up for trying something new. Katy Rosé certainly caught our imagination, and it’s going down really well with our customers. The concept of a jug of cider to share while enjoying the unique summer atmosphere here in Brighton is a winning combination.”
Thatchers has produced point of sale material including A Boards and tent cards and has briefed InnBrighton staff on serving methods for Katy Rosé. Thatchers is also working with individual outlets within the group on running cider tasting nights and special meal promotions.
As well as Katy Rosé, InnBrighton has been stocking Thatchers English draught ciders, Cheddar Valley, Heritage, and Old Rascal in bottles, which have proved exceptionally popular in the cosmopolitan outlets in and around Brighton’s Lanes.
Thatchers Cider launched Katy Rosé earlier this year. Crafted in Somerset from English Katy apples, Katy Rosé takes its characteristic blush from the colour of the apple, to produce a soft, light and fruity, pink cider.
Thatchers managing director Martin Thatcher says, “Katy Rosé is capturing the imagination of customers up and down the country. It’s the ideal drink for a summer’s day, and serving it in jugs, as we are doing in Brighton, lends itself perfectly to Katy Rosé being a cider for sharing.”
