Legend has it that every night, under the cover of darkness, a wily old fox crept out of his den at the bottom of the Thatchers orchard, and tiptoed his way to the cider store to help himself to fresh supplies…...“The old rascal’s been at it again!”
Thatchers has announced new stockists for its Old Rascal cider, following the product’s recent re-launch.
As part of its range review, Sainsburys has agreed a national listing for Old Rascal. Sainsburys has also confirmed new listings for Thatchers Pear Cider and Thatchers Gold, as well as doubling the number of stores stocking Thatchers Katy and Thatchers Vintage.
Meanwhile Tesco has confirmed that it is to list Old Rascal across its stores nationwide, alongside its current Thatchers range which includes Katy, Coxs and Gold.
Martin Thatcher, managing director comments, “This is great news for Old Rascal – it has been one of our favourite ciders for many years, and with its new profile we are sure it will continue to spread the word about fine Somerset cider to new drinkers throughout the country.”
New packaging and point of sale for Old Rascal tell the story of the “Old Rascal”, a wily old fox who creeps into the cider store to top up on his favourite tipple. Old Rascal has an abv of 4.5%, and the 500ml bottle has an rrp of £1.79. Old Rascal is also available in a 2 litre PET, and both the 500ml and 2 litre sizes will be available in six-packs.
A fine bittersweet cider, produced from some of Somerset’s best cider apples, Dabinett and Redstreak, Old Rascal is aged in oak vats, and has all the hallmarks of a distinctive Thatchers product full of flavour and a Westcountry apple bite.
