Today we've got a whole range that takes you from fresh vibrant and modern, to traditional, vintage, speciality and single variety.

Did you know

  • More than 6m hectolitres, or 130m gallons, of cider are produced in Britain each year.

  • Of all the apples grown in Britain, 45% are used in cider making.

  • Two million new cider apple trees have been planted since 1995.

  • In the 14th Century children were baptised in cider, it was cleaner than the water.

  • Farm workers’ wages in earlier times included four pints of cider a day.

  • In 2010 Thatchers Cider planted around 100,000 new apple trees and has approximately 380 acres of its own orchards.

  • After 25 years of development, new cider apple varieties Lizzie and Angela have been harvested from Thatchers orchards.

  • In 2009, if all the apples pressed at Thatchers were lined up, they would stretch from Somerset to Indonesia.

Description

Based on an original 1904 recipe, Thatchers Traditional is a hazy, unfiltered and un-carbonated cider, but has a natural, subtle sparkle.

Specially produced from a blend of bittersweet apples, it has a mellow and smooth taste that will appeal to those who enjoy real Somerset cider at its very best.
