Thatchers Cider Academy – Cider Technician
Thatchers Cider Academy in an opportunity to work within the heart of our production team helping to create, process and package one of the most famous ciders in the country.
The training for this role is delivered through the new L2 food and drink trailblazer apprenticeships, designed to meet industry standards and give you the specific skills and knowledge to become a confident member of the production team.
As a cider apprentice you will experience the process of how to take an apple and turn it into packaged cider. The main part of the apprenticeship will be a rotation on each of our packing lines. These lines use state of the art engineering and technology to package our cider and as a cider technician you will be part of the team responsible for maintaining, operating and fixing them.
As well as understanding the technical operations you will also have the opportunity to understand the science behind the process and work with our laboratory technicians and specialist cider teams who make our world famous cider.
As a cider apprentice you would expect to be hands on, thrive in a technical environment with state of the art equipment and technology, have a practical approach, eye for attention to detail and enjoy working as part of a team.
You will be pro-active, show resilience and have a can-do attitude demonstrating that you are a hard worker in a demanding environment.
