Head of Sales - Off Trade

Thatchers Cider

As one of the top cider making businesses in the world, we’re proud of what we’ve achieved, and we’re even more excited about our plans for the future. We’ve experienced tremendous growth through industry leading levels of investment in marketing, people development, innovative technology and world class cider mill machinery. As fourth generation family cider makers, founded in 1904, we are very proud of our Somerset roots, and our close proximity to Bristol means an easy commute if you like the city life.

Thatchers People

The Thatchers team is action orientated, adaptable and resourceful with high levels of resilience to compete in an exciting yet competitive market place.  We work hard and, together, we achieve great things. We have a desire to learn, a thirst for knowledge, and a passion for quality cider that customers enjoy across the world.

Head of Sales (Off Trade)

As the Head of Sales responsible for the Off Trade team and for Off Trade customers, you will demonstrate strong leadership qualities. You will manage the performance and development of the Off Trade Sales team and proactively identify how to improve sales and profit performance to exceed budget. You will nurture relationships both internally and externally throughout the product lifecycle; from the apple in the orchard to the cider on the shelf. This is an exciting role that offers a unique breadth of exposure to the business. You will work closely with other teams across the business.

About You

You will demonstrate a real drive to build and develop your team, and to encourage strong working relationships with customers. You will empower your team to achieve business growth through great long-term business relationships; to do it well you will need to have had significant experience in managing a team. To thrive in the role and at Thatchers, you will be someone who naturally gets involved, goes the extra mile, has a positive outlook and is curious and questioning. You will have a skill-set that stands you in good stead for leading a sales team; developing the team’s sales acumen overall, as well as at an individual level. You are likely to be looking for a different kind of opportunity; entrepreneurial and challenging in a growth orientated family business.

About the team you’ll be working with

We are one sales team at Thatchers, with a close connection between Off and On Trade.

You will report into Chris, our Off Trade Sales Director.  Chris has master-minded our sales growth over the past ten years and is crafting the team that can continue this trajectory for the next ten.
