It’s been this year’s hottest ticket that ended with a final that will go down in living memory – and we’ve loved every minute as the Official Cider of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019, keeping everyone refreshed!
We’ve introduced Thatchers to a new audience with our ciders being poured in all 11 venues where the tournament’s 48 matches have been hosted, and in the 8 city centre fan zones.
Throughout the tournament, we created an interactive brand experience to introduce many new customers to our Somerset ciders. Two Thatchers trucks toured the venues selling Thatchers Gold and Haze, with exclusive prizes and merchandise won with Spin the Wheel and Apple Drop games. We also ran a Golden Seat competition to engage with the cricket fans at the grounds.
To amplify the buzz and excitement in and around the host cities, large digital billboards were in place and the Thatchers TV ad ran throughout the whole tournament, as well as radio promotions and social media competitions.
Our summer of cricket continues with the domestic season at Somerset & Gloucestershire where both teams will be gunning for trophies at the hugely successful T20 Vitality Blast competition.
