It’s about finding amazing cider makers, operatives, engineers, accountants, marketeers, sales, and IT specialists.
Apprenticeships are so important to us here at Thatchers as it’s all about providing real life work experience on the job. Giving people the skills to develop in a business where they have the chance to grow with us over time and continually develop and learn.

You’ll find rewarding challenges in each of our departments, and we have a range of opportunities from sales, marketing, customer service, finance, to the production of cider making, including engineering and lab technicians. There really is a role to suit every skill set.
The key objective for our Young Talent Programme has been to Inspire, Educate and Lead. Putting young people at the heart of the programme and ensuring they have all of the skills and knowledge to be able to have a successful career within Thatchers and the food and drink industry.
At Thatchers our apprenticeship programme has been designed to sector academies. Through this model apprentices can gain key skills, knowledge, and experience across different areas of the business.
Our apprenticeship schemes are divided into two areas of the business.
The Brand Academy focuses on commercial areas like customer service and sales. So, if you want to, work directly with our customers, be creative, work with numbers and enjoy talking to people then perhaps the Brand Academy is for you.
Working in this area of the business focuses on the technical, operational, and science-based careers. If you like to solve problems, fix things, and have practical skills then the Cider Academy is for you.
We know it’s a big decision to take your first steps in a career and at Thatchers we ensure that we give you all the training, support, and development you need to succeed. What we ask in return is hard-work and trust, and for you to share the same enthusiasm and passion for our business as we do.
Over the programme you will gain a strong foundation of knowledge, gain skills, and learn from industry experts within our teams. At the start of this journey we will review your skills and ambitions to create a training plan that meets your individual needs. As part of our Young Talent Programme we will develop your skills and knowledge through a range of business seminars and networking opportunities that will give you a thorough insight into our industry and business. You will be assigned a tutor at college who is there to support you as well as a Thatchers mentor and your line manager. Course lengths vary depending on the qualification you are studying.
