Our Cider Academy focuses on the technical side of the business. You will have the opportunity to work across all the production operatives and really get a good understanding into the process of cider making. As part of this apprenticeship you will be able to gain experience across all the different departments including primary process (where the apples come in), blending, fermentation, production (canning, kegging, bottling), engineering and the lab.
You will work as part of a production team, working shifts. This apprenticeship is not for the faint hearted. It’s a great opportunity to really understand about the process of what goes into making our cider. Many of the apprentices then go on to working in a department that is most suited to their skill set after having experienced each area.
The qualification you will obtain will be Level 2 Food and Drink Process Operator. Our college provider for this apprenticeship is Bridgwater and Taunton College.
Typically, the apprenticeship will take 12-18 months to complete.
So, if you like solving problems, fixing things, don’t mind working outside, getting your hands dirty and generally have more practical skills then the cider academy is best suited to you.
