Gloucestershire Cricket unveils the new Thatchers Bar
Gloucestershire Cricket has unveiled the latest addition to the Bristol County Ground: the new Thatchers Bar, created to provide members, supporters, and visitors a greatly enhanced experience.
To commemorate the partnership between ourselves and Gloucestershire Cricket, a huge timeline highlighting key moments in the Club’s 150-year history has been installed alongside key moments in Thatchers history.
Street Artist Silent Hobo has also provided colour by incorporating cricket and street art into his latest creation within the bar.
“The new décor looks absolutely amazing, and we’re sure there are many memorable times to be had enjoying a pint of cider and watching the cricket from the comfort of the new bar” says Philip McTeer, Thatchers’ Head of Marketing.
“As a local family business we’ve been a long-term supporter of Gloucestershire Cricket and welcome the chance to become a bigger part of match days with the Thatchers Bar and extending to all the other private parties, events and conferences to give a perfect taste of Bristol.”
The extensive renovation features a new bespoke decking area located directly outside the bar area, so spectators have a place to view cricket both inside and out. The outdoor staircases have been relocated so as to provide uninhibited views across the playing area from both inside and outside the Thatchers Bar. The Club has also installed additional digital TVs which will showcase live sport alongside the Gloucestershire Cricket ball-by-ball online stream.
The bar will serve refreshments including Thatchers Gold & Haze alongside soft drinks and hot beverages that will be available to purchase from the Café also located within the spacious area.
Gloucestershire Cricket Commercial Director Neil Priscott added: “We are really proud of The Thatchers Bar; it looks absolutely incredible and is a brilliant addition to the Bristol County Ground. We are confident that Gloucestershire Cricket members and supporters, together with all our conference and events visitors, will enjoy the space that has been created and the general décor of the area.
“Thatchers have been a terrific support on this project and our partnership with them goes from strength to strength. We really look forward to throwing the Thatchers Bar doors open to the public as soon as we are able to do so.”
