Supporting Weston College’s “200 in 100” event

We’ve been pleased to support Weston College’s 200 in 100 apprenticeship campaign through our own, now award winning, Young Talent Programme.

The college’s campaign set out to create 200 apprenticeship vacancies in 100 days, and actually exceeded its targets. So huge congratulations to them all, introducing a diverse range of apprenticeship opportunities, in areas including management, business administration, IT and adult care.

As part of the campaign, we were able to host a celebration business breakfast here at The Railway Inn, that brought together the employers that pledged their support, and now have apprentices working in their businesses – including Thatchers.

The morning began with an introduction from Martin Thatcher, who talked about his experience of running a family business, and the importance of bringing in new skills and nurturing talent. Our chairman, Lord Digby Jones, then spoke to the audience with some business tips and life advice.

Dr Paul Phillips CBE, Principal and Chief Executive of Weston College, thanked employers who had taken part in the campaign, saying, “At Weston College, we aim to create brighter futures and this campaign is further proof of this.”
