Thatchers supports the first Weston Hospicecare Men’s March
This year sees the very first Weston Hospicecare Men’s March, which Thatchers Cider is delighted to be supporting.
Taking place on 9th March 2019, the Men’s March is a 10-mile sponsored walk in and around Weston-super-Mare, starting and finishing at The Grand Pier. The route takes in a superb coastal walk, a stroll through Weston Woods as well as the stunning views from Sand Point.
At the end of the walk, participants will be able to watch England’s penultimate Six Nations rugby match against Italy on big screens in The Grand Pier’s Regency Suite, whilst enjoying a pasty and a pint of Thatchers Gold (or a soft drink for younger walkers).
Weston Hospicecare has running costs of £4.2million every year – with only 20% covered by the NHS, so fundraising is vital to support its work for people with life-limiting illnesses and supporting their families. It’s hoped that this year’s Men’s March will raise in the region of £20k.
Martin Thatcher, managing director of Thatchers Cider says, “Weston Hospicecare captures the hearts and minds of the community, and we’re looking forward to being a part of this exciting and exceptionally worthwhile Men’s March, that will raise valuable funds for the hospice. What could be better than enjoying a walk through the beautiful Somerset countryside, watching the rugby with a pasty and a pint of Thatchers Gold, whilst knowing you’re helping contribute much needed funds for the work of Weston Hospicecare.
Weston Hospicecare has a long history of running its successful Midnight Beach Walk event for women, but this is the first dedicated men’s event.
