We’ll be raising a glass of cider and flying the flag for Somerset on Somerset Day

With just a few weeks to go before this year’s Somerset Day on May 11th, we are flying the flag for Somerset for Somerset Day and encouraging lovers of Somerset cider to do the same!

We have been making cider at our farm in Sandford, Somerset for four generations, and with these roots so much a part of our long heritage, we are keen to be supporting the Somerset Day Fly the Flag campaign this year.

Organisers of the county’s special day, Somerset Day, are asking people to Fly the Flag for Somerset over the weekend of 8/9th May, and through to Somerset Day 11th May, whether that’s with bunting in their gardens, or pictures in their windows.

“This is a great opportunity to show your support of this wonderful place we live in and fly the flag for Somerset,” says Martin Thatcher, born and bred in the county.

“We’ve been making cider at Myrtle Farm since 1904, and there’s no doubt this is the best place in the world to be  living and working. And it’s definitely the best place to be making cider – we’re very proud to be able to put the words Somerset Cider on our labels.”

Thatchers will be running a social media campaign in the run up to Somerset Day, so keep an eye out on our channels for a chance to win a bundle of Somerset goodies.

As a founding partner of Somerset Day, we will also have some special offers in our cider shop, and also marking the day in The Railway Inn, Sandford.
