At Thatchers, we have been making cider with care and expertise since 1904. We are a family owned business in its fourth generation and you will often see Martin and John Thatcher going about their daily work here on Myrtle Farm in Somerset. Each generation has brought their own positive change to Thatchers, whether it was Stan’s commitment to making old-fashioned draught farmhouse cider, or Martin and John’s innovations with single variety ciders. Each generation also passing on their secrets, from how to encourage bees to pollinate apple blossom and looking after the 150-year-old oak vats where the cider matures, to the art of cider making itself.
Our cidermakers love to marry traditional techniques with state of the art technology to create ciders that are smooth, fresh and full of flavour.
As part of the programme our graduate recruits will complete a full Thatchers induction and gain the technical and commercial knowledge through our bespoke training programmes.
