Sandwich Years

We are looking for people with enthusiasm and a can do attitude. This is an opportunity for anyone who wants to develop their commercial awareness and skills within the food and drink industry as a laboratory technician.

At Thatchers, we have been making cider with care and expertise since 1904. We are a family owned business in its fourth generation and you will often see Martin and John Thatcher going about their daily work here on Myrtle Farm in Somerset. Each generation has brought their own positive change to Thatchers, whether it was Stan’s commitment to making old-fashioned draught farmhouse cider, or Martin and John’s innovations with single variety ciders. Each generation also passing on their secrets, from how to encourage bees to pollinate apple blossom and looking after the 150-year-old oak vats where the cider matures, to the art of cider making itself.

Our cidermakers love to marry traditional techniques with state of the art technology to create ciders that are smooth, fresh and full of flavour.

As part of the programme our graduate recruits will complete a full Thatchers induction and gain the technical and commercial knowledge through our bespoke training programmes.

To be successful here, you need to be a remarkable person who gets stuff done and will share the same enthusiasm and passion for our cider and business as we do. You will be pro-active, have a passion to learn and relish operating in a fast paced and demanding environment.

Our 2018/19 young talent programme will be open in the new year.  If you would like to be added to our database to be alerted when our programme goes live and to receive your invitation to our careers day please click on the link below:
