Haze & Apple Sauce

Haze & apple sauce perfectly paired with hot dogs – a combination you won’t want to miss out on this BBQ season!

This recipe uses:

Thatchers Haze

  • 2 onions (roughly chopped)
  • 1 green chilli (chopped)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 cloves garlic (roughly chopped)
  • 3 bramley apples (peeled, cored & roughly chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 500ml Haze
  • 100ml cider vinegar
  • Pinch salt

  1. In a frying pan, sweat the onion, chilli, garlic with the bay leaf over a medium heat until softened.
  2. Add the allspice, ginger, cayenne pepper and cinnamon.
  3. Cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the bramley apples, cider vinegar & 250ml of Thatchers Haze.
  5. Simmer on a low heat until the apples are soft.
  6. Leave to cool slightly
  7. Transfer mixture to a blender (in batches).
  8. Blend to a purée.
  9. Stir in the remaining Thatchers Haze & season with salt.
  10. Serve & enjoy!
