We’re delighted that Thatchers Gold has won a gold medal in the prestigious US Open Beer Championships, taking the top award in the category for English Cider.

In only the second year that the championships have included a cider section, hundreds of ciders from both the US and overseas were entered, reflecting the rapidly growing interest in the category.

All the categories are judged in a blind tasting.

“This is fantastic news to have been awarded a Gold Medal for our Gold Cider in these prestigious championships at the first time of entering,” says fourth generation cidermaker Martin Thatcher.  “With a new generation of American consumers looking for ciders with heritage, quality and character, authentic English cider is increasingly in demand, and so we’re of course delighted that our cider has been recognised with this award.”
