What a fantastic evening we had at the Made in South West 2023 Awards!

We were delighted to win both the Food & Drink Award and Future Talent Award, our brilliant young talent, Molly Clarke, was also ‘highly commended’ in the Apprentice of the Year Award.

5^th Generation cider maker, Eleanor Thatcher, picked up the Food & Drink Award with the judges commenting “Thatchers demonstrate a long-standing approach to adapting to market conditions, a dedicated use of local suppliers while innovating all the time and developing a range of new products that are succeeding in a range of competitive markets. They’ve invested hugely in apprenticeships, brand, product innovation, sustainability and the environment.”

We also proudly collected the Future Talent Award for our apprenticeship programme, with the judges adding “Thatchers were selected for a clearly proactive approach to supporting their apprentices, ensuring they become part of the team and benefit from a wide range of activity and experience in the company. The fact that 20 per cent of the workforce is from apprenticeships highlights the reason for their success.”
