We’re at NRB 2015

Come along to the Thatchers Stand 530 at this year’s Northern Restaurant and Bar Show, and taste for yourself why Thatchers Gold is the UK’s No 2 best-selling draught cider, and get to know not just one, but two great new apple ciders from the Somerset cidermaker.

Each of our ciders has its own individual character, but all are crafted with the same passion for quality that has been passed down over four generations of the Thatcher family.

We will be pleased to talk to you about why Thatchers Cider would be the right fit for you, whether you are looking to offer your customers a new draught cider on the bar or expand the range of packaged cider in your fridge to meet the continued growing consumer demand for premium crafted cider.

Cider is brilliant alongside food, so talk to us about pairing cider on your food menus.    We’ve got some great recipe ideas that work perfectly with our ciders -King Prawn, Aubergine and Potato Curry, or even some naughty but nice Apple Doughnuts with salt caramel sauce, are perfect with Old Rascal; a Pulled Chicken Burger with Hazy Ketchup with Thatchers Somerset Haze; or a delicious Chicken Tikka Kebab for Thatchers Red.

Try our ciders for yourself on our stand:

·         Thatchers Gold (4.8%) – this full flavoured medium dry Somerset cider has a wonderfully rich golden colour. Thatchers Gold is the South West’s favourite cider, and across the UK is now the No 2 best-selling cider on draught. Made using traditional techniques and expertise gained since 1904, Thatchers Gold has a smooth and refreshing taste.

·         Thatchers Old Rascal (4.5%) – with a new label design, Old Rascal is available on draught for the first time, as well as in cans and 500ml bottle. Old Rascal has a full bodied character and distinctive medium dry flavour, and is crafted from 100% bittersweet apples including Redstreak, a favourite Somerset apple to add peppery and spicy notes;  Dabinett for a rich, full body, and Tremlett’s for its flavour and tannins.

·         Thatchers Red (4%) – our new, red apple cider, it’s mellow, refreshing and fruity with a subtle, sweet dessert apple flavour. We’ve crafted Red to appeal to the 18 – 24 consumers who have been introduced to cider through sweeter fruit and flavoured drinks but who now want to experience the depth of apple cider. Our cider makers have selected their favourite Katy apple to provide the intense red colour and soft fruitiness, while the Jonagold Red apple lends a mellow, sweet flavour.  Thatchers Red is available in 500ml and 330ml glass bottles and keg.

 ·         Thatchers Somerset Haze (4.5%) – a premium crafted cloudy cider, this is a traditional style English cider with a contemporary twist to widen its appeal to the 18 – 34 consumers. Just right for laid-back, relaxed and sociable drinking occasions Thatchers Somerset Haze is crafted with Discovery, Falstaff, Gala and Jonagold apples to create its crisp sweet finish. It is the juice of the Jonagold apple that brings a naturally hazy appearance to this cider. It is available in a range of serve formats including 500ml bottles, 440ml can, and draught.

Four generations of the Thatcher family have made cider at Myrtle Farm – and there’s a fifth generation waiting in the wings. The same care that goes into our orchards is carried on throughout every stage of the cider making process, from  milling, pressing, fermentation and maturing, through to bottling and kegging,  to create a range of Somerset ciders each with its own distinct depth of character.
